Connecting Generations at Inspired Living
Last Friday, Mindful Leaders Academy headed to Inspired Living for our field trip. We had 30 students show up, ranging from birth through eighth grade. We partnered with the residents at the facility to play games, have snacks, listen to music, and brighten their day.
Smiles, Crafts, and Balloon Badminton
The residents were so excited to see the babies, and their faces really lit up with the infants in the room and the toddlers running around smiling. Our older kids did crafts with the residents and played balloon badminton, which turned out to be really popular for all ages. We were blasting music, and both the residents and our kiddos loved it and had a great time together.
A Shared Birthday Celebration and Lasting Memories
We also had a birthday party for one of the residents and one of our four-year-old students who shared the exact same birthday that day. We sang happy birthday, had cupcakes, and everyone had a wonderful time. Some of our students said afterward that they had the best time talking to the older residents, and it made them feel good to see how much they brightened their day.
