Two cohorts.

Innovators Cohort

Grades 2-5

Designed for younger innovators who love to explore, create, and solve problems. Students build confidence through hands-on projects while developing teamwork, communication, and creative thinking skills.

Visionaries Cohort

Grades 6-9

Designed for learners ready for greater challenge and independence. Students tackle increasingly complex projects, strengthen leadership skills, and connect their learning to real-world challenges.

From Concepts to Creation

Innovation Labs is intentionally collaborative and project based. Students regularly build and prototype, work in teams, present ideas, solve challenges, strengthen leadership and communication, connect learning to authentic problems, and create solutions with purpose.

This is not worksheet learning. It is immersive, creative, and designed to help students learn by doing.

Designed for Curious Learners

Innovation Labs welcomes students from all school backgrounds: homeschool, private, charter and traditional. No STEM experience is needed, just curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to learn in a secure, hands-on environment.

  • Yes. Innovation Labs is a drop-off program. Students are signed in by a parent or authorised adult and collected at the end of the session.

  • No. Projects are designed so beginners and experienced builders can work side by side. Curiosity and a willingness to try are all that is required.

  • Innovation Labs runs as semester-based cohorts rather than drop-in classes. Students stay with the same group so projects can build in complexity across the semester.

  • Students are grouped by cohort: the Innovators Cohort for Grades 2-5 and the Visionaries Cohort for Grades 6-9. Each cohort works on projects scaled to its stage of development.

  • Mid-semester enrolment may be possible when space allows. Because projects build across the semester, we review each request individually so a student can join at a point where they can succeed.

  • Mindful Leaders is a Step Up For Students direct provider. Eligibility may vary depending on program structure and approved educational expenses, and we are happy to help families explore whether funding applies to Innovation Labs.
